Vintage Platinum Blue Sapphire & Diamond Ring with Filigree

A beautifully crafted vintage platinum sapphire and diamond ring filled with wonderful old-world details. At the center is an approximately 1.25ct round faceted blue sapphire, framed on either side by round brilliant-cut diamonds and accented with tapered baguette diamonds that lead gracefully into the shank.

What makes this ring especially lovely is the craftsmanship beyond the stones. Delicate openwork filigree and engraved detailing decorate the shoulders and continue along the shank, giving the platinum a wonderfully intricate, lace-like quality. Beneath the center sapphire is a charming heart-shaped filigree motif, a beautiful little detail that is revealed when the ring is viewed from the side.

Elegant engraving along the outer shank adds another layer of texture and character. At just approximately 7mm (0.28”) across the front, the ring has a refined profile while still giving the sapphire wonderful presence on the hand.
